Day Trips: Hever Castle
Day Trip to Hever Castle
Hever Castle is a quick day trip from London and provides a really fun outing. The Castle and Gardens are absolutely stunning to visit and tour. There are two mazes to keep children (and adults) thoroughly entertained. You can even hire row boats or peddle boats to take out into the small pond.
Hever Castle was the childhood home of Anne Boelyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII. It later became home to Henry’s divorced fourth wife – Anne Cleves.
It sits in the county of Kent and is accessible via train and a mile walk from the station, or by car.
They host several events throughout the year – and this summer I had the pleasure of visiting during a Jousting tournament.
The Jousting was fun to watch but the true sight to see was the Castle and Gardens.
